Coiling Practice

This morning we began the pushing hands seminar in the advanced group with solo coiling exercise done stationary, rocking and stepping. You use one hand to coil yin or yang over the other and then push or pluck. Important points to remember are to use the kua, waist, chest and elbow in coiling and not to extend the follow-up push or pluck further than necessary to neutralize and open up your opponent, which normally is a point in line with your shoulder.
